Standard hydration testing measures how effectively a water product restores cellular fluid balance after physical exertion. The key differentiator is dissolved oxygen concentration.

During anaerobic exercise, muscles produce lactic acid faster than the aerobic system can clear it. Elevated dissolved oxygen in ingested water provides an additional substrate for accelerated aerobic metabolism, directly assisting in the conversion of lactate back to pyruvate—flushing accumulated acid from muscle tissues and shortening recovery time.

Tier B

100% rPET (Recycled Plastic)

Reduces virgin petroleum use. Still degrades over multiple cycles but avoids new plastic extraction.

Tier C

Virgin PET / Standard Plastic

Petrochemical-derived. Over 90% of virgin PET bottles worldwide are never recycled.

Microplastic Testing

Microplastic contamination occurs through multiple vectors during manufacturing, storage, and consumer use. We measure particle concentration at multiple points in the supply chain.

Vector 1: Screw-Cap Friction Shedding

Every time a consumer opens or closes a standard plastic screw-cap bottle, friction between the cap thread and bottle neck shears microscopic polymer fragments directly into the water column. This is not a manufacturing defect—it is a structural property of commodity polypropylene caps pressed against PET threads. High-volume testing has detected between 2 and 44 microplastic particles per liter in standard single-use bottles.

Vector 2: Bulk Plastic Leaching

When PET plastic is exposed to heat—direct sunlight, warehouse storage, vehicle transport—phthalate compounds and nanoplastic particles migrate from the bottle wall into the water. Temperature-controlled supply chain protocols reduce but do not eliminate this pathway.

Supply Chain Transparency

Independent audits of sourcing, testing frequency, and third-party verification. Brands refusing third-party audits receive lowest score.

Ownership & Independence

Whether independently owned vs. mega-conglomerate subsidiary with conflicting wider business interests.
